John Eriksmoen, D.D.S., F.A.G.D.
Dr. John Eriksmoen has more than 30 years experience in the dental field, and he is one of the best cosmetic dentists in Newport Beach. Cosmetic dentistry implant dentistry, sedation dentistry, and general dentistry are each an important component of Dr. Eriksmoen's practice. Our talented Orange County cosmetic dentist offers porcelain veneers, tooth whitening services, dental implants, sedation dentistry, and numerous other procedures to patients throughout Southern California.
History
Dr. John P. "Jack" Eriksmoen has been practicing in Newport Beach as a cosmetic dentist since 1971. Dr. Eriksmoen was born in Glendale and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1967. He later became a member of the U.S.C. faculty as an Associate Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics. In 1987, he was given the honor of being made a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. John Eriksmoen still lectures in the field of cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. He is also an investigator in an FDA clinical trial studying migraine headache prevention.
A skilled Orange County cosmetic dentist, Dr. Eriksmoen is active in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped, the American Association of Hospital Dentists, the American Society for Geriatric Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Eriksmoen is also a member of the staff at Hoag Hospital. He devotes a full day each month to an ongoing continuing education seminar on implant, reconstructive, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Eriksmoen has served as Chairman of Continuing Education twice, and has been chairman of several other committees for the Orange County Dental Society, and has been a Peer Review examiner since 1994.

Business Office Staff
The business office staff at our Newport Beach cosmetic dentistry practice has numerous years of experience in the dental field. They assist patients with scheduling appointments, dealing with insurance carriers, and many other tasks, which make the patient's experience more enjoyable.
Runi Snelson - Office Administrator
Runi Snelson, our office administrator, attended Cypress College and received her Registered Dental Assistant (R.D.A.) certification in 1977. Before joining our office in 1976, she obtained her initial dental experience at a prestigious New York dental practice followed by 10 years in a very fine Huntington Beach dental office. Runi remains current in the field through participation in management seminars, updating her Red Cross CPR training, maintaining her X-ray license, and supporting the Dental Assistants' Association.
Judy Carlson-McNulty - Receptionist/Treatment Coordinator
As a child, Judy Carlson-McNulty moved from Illinois to Los Angeles. After attending El Camino College and extension courses at U.C.L.A., she obtain ed her Certified Dental Assistant (C.D.A.) certification in 1965. Judy continued her education and received one of the first Registered Dental Assistant (R.D.A.) certificates in California. She joined Dr. John Eriksmoen's staff as a chair-side assistant in 1977 and subsequently became our cosmetic dentistry office's full-time treatment coordinator. Judy takes pride in assuring each patient that their treatment goals are accomplished with attention to maximizing insurance benefits, understanding financial arrangements, and meeting patient scheduling needs.
Melody Esquer - Receptionist
Melody Esquer, one of our receptionists, was born and raised in Newport Beach where she attended Estancia High School. Melody obtained her R.D.A. certification by attending and graduating from the Bryman Campus of the National Education Center and continuing her education with a two-year program in Dental Assisting at Orange Coast College. She graduated in 1976. Melody joined Orange County cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen and his cosmetic dentistry practice in 1994. With more than 30 years of dental practice experience as a dental assistant, receptionist, and office manager, Melody possesses a proficiency that contributes to the efficiency of our cosmetic dentistry staff. She enjoys being able to assist our patients with appointment scheduling and dental insurance.
Debbie Ditto - Treatment Coordinator
A Los Angeles native, Debbie Ditto attended Hacienda Heights High School and Mt. San Antonio Community College. With previous dental office experience, Debbie joined our Newport Beach cosmetic dentistry staff as a treatment coordinator in 1995. A strong patient advocate, Debbie works closely with our patients to plan and arrange their dental care to best meet their personal goals. She also schedules appointments that are convenient to patients' schedules, works to maximize patients' dental insurance benefits and minimize their out-of-pocket expenses, and makes affordable financial arrangements for fees not covered by insurance.
Sherry Barker - Receptionist
Sherry Barker attended the Arizona Dental Assistant School. After graduating in 1970, she worked as a dental assistant in an orthodontic office and at a renowned prosthodontic practice (dental office that specializes in restorations, implant dentistry, etc.) in Arizona. Sherry moved to Orange County and joined Newport Beach cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen in 1979.
With extensive experience as a dental assistant and receptionist at our cosmetic dentistry practice, Sherry efficiently schedules appointments with our Southern California cosmetic dentist.

Sandir Holland - Registered Dental Assistant
Born in Brazil, Sandir Holland, R.D.A. moved to Southern California as a teenager. Sandir became a registered dental assistant after attending and graduation from Altaloma College in 1972. She joined the staff at our practice in 1978. Sandir volunteer s and serves as the treasurer of the Dental Management Association, an organization that provide s continuing education courses for our general and cosmetic dentistry team. With the ability to express her compassion to overly anxious and phobic dental patients, Sandir is able to assist them during their treatment. Sandir's strong patient relations allow her to counsel patients on how to obtain optimum dental health and esthetic potential. She has also become skilled in the creation of temporary restorations.
Laboratory Staff
Dental technicians and ceramists make up the laboratory staff of our Southern California general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry practice.
Helen Aguilar - Dental Technician
A valuable addition to our dental laboratory staff, Helen Aguilar is a Southern California native. She received her associate degree in dental technology in 1989 from Huntington College. Helen relies on her expertise in the fabrication of dies and casts from impressions and the creation of wax patterns for gold crown castings to assure the quality control and efficiency of our implant dentistry laboratory. She has added to Dr. John Eriksmoen's confidence in the precision of his patients' dental restorations.
Jeffry McHale - Dental Technician
Raised in Malibu, Jeffry McHale, C.D.T., obtained his initial dental technology training in the Navy. After serving on a hospital ship during on an extended tour in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970, Jeff received an honorable discharge in 1971 and further pursued his dental technology training. In 1975 Jeff graduated first in his class from the Southern California College of Medical and Dental Careers. After successfully completing the National Board for Certification examination, Jeff became a Certified Dental Technician.
With more than 30 years of experience in the production of gold crowns, inlays, and frameworks for porcelain crowns and bridges, Jeff remains current in the field through his memberships in the Orange County Dental Implant Consortium and the Southern California Osseointegration Study Club. A master technician in crafting dental implants, Jeff's expertise and experience are integral to our implant and cosmetic dentistry work.
Ionatana Neufeldt - Dental Technician
Ionatana (Tana) Neufeldt's background allows him to utilize a unique combination of skills and experience in his job as a dental technician. Born and raised in Western Samoa, Tana received a carpentry degree from Western Samoa College. When he moved to Southern California, Tana continued his education at the Long Beach California Institute of Dental Technology. He graduated in 1984 and opened a small dental laboratory before becoming a member of our Newport Beach cosmetic dentistry staff in 1994. Tana is extremely adept in creating and processing removable prosthodontics, including complete and partial dentures.
Roger Voyer - Dental Ceramist
Another local native, Roger Voyer, C.D.T., was born and raised in Garden Grove where he attended Mater Dei High School. He studied dental technology at Orange Coast College, graduating in 1981. After a 12-year tenure creating high- caliber ceramic restorations for a leading South County dental laboratory, Roger joined the Orange County practice of cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen in 1997. A gifted artist, Roger has a special talent for matching shades for our esthetic restorations, including aesthetic ceramic/porcelain veneers, crowns, and bridges, to provide natural looking results. Roger has continued his education by attending advanced courses in the latest technologies in metal-free ceramics.
Alan Wager - Dental Ceramist
Alan Wager, an Orange County native, was born in Corona to a Marine family. After graduating from Santa Ana Valley High School, Alan attended Orange Coast College and completed his dental technology training in 1981. After graduation, he accrued dental restoration experience at a small Huntington Beach dental laboratory that catered to prestigious dental offices. Alan excelled as a dental ceramist and after only four years, he accrued the skill and knowledge to open a dental laboratory in Huntington Beach and a second laboratory in Chino. With more than 20 years of experience as a talented dental ceramist, Alan joined our staff in 1996.
Bill Wakefield - Dental Ceramist
Although he was born in Schenectady, New York, Bill Wakefield was raised in Southern California. In 1970, Bill received a certificate in dental technology from Riverside City College. After college, Bill's initial experience in dentistry was during two years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, where he was assigned to the dental department of the U.S. Naval Station on Midway Island.
Bill's Orange County dental laboratory experience began in 1972. Bill continued to work in dentistry, spending most of his career as a dental ceramist. By the time he joined Dr. John Eriksmoen' s staff in 1998, Bill had accrued more than 30 years of experience in the field. In order to keep his skills current, Bill has completed several continuing education courses throughout the years. He provides our cosmetic dentistry practice with exquisite porcelain laminate veneers, as well as ceramic crowns and bridges.
Victor Rodriguez - Dental Ceramist
After completing Edison High School in Huntington Beach, Victor Rodriguez, A.A.S., C.D.T. continued his education at Orange Coast College, earning his Associate in Applied Sciences degree in 1980. He then received an electrical engineering diploma from ITT Technical Institute in 1989. With a solid educational background and strong restoration skill set, Victor joined our Newport Beach cosmetic dentistry staff in 1990.
Victor continues to hone his skills through working at our implant dentistry lab, attending continuing education courses, being a dental laboratory technology lecturer, and remaining active in dental technology organizations and the Osseointegration Study Club of Southern California. In 1995, he received a prestigious Mastership Credential from the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. The following year, Victor served as president of the California Dental Laboratory Association South Counties Component. Regarded by his peers as a gifted dental technician in the field of dentures and implant supported prosthodontics, Victor is a valuable part of our staff.
Gary Oden - Dental Technician/Ceramist
After graduating from La Quinta High School in Fountain Valley, Gary Oden entered the dental technology program at Orange Coast College, but had to leave the program in 1969 when he was drafted. He served with the 25th Infantry Division in South Vietnam until November 1970. Gary was able to return and complete his studies at Orange Coast College after he received an honorable discharge from military service.
Before joining the Newport Beach practice of cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen in 1999, Gary accrued extensive dental laboratory experience. He began his career working for commercial dental laboratories in Southern California and excelled in his craft, becoming the Lead Ceramist at one of the largest dental laboratories in the country. Then, Gary opened his own dental laboratory, which he ran for almost 20 years. He is skilled in crafting superior crowns and bridges.
Ronnie Kiyohara - Dental Technician
A native of Los Angeles, Ronnie Kiyohara completed dental technology courses at the UCLA Extension in 1968. By the time he joined our cosmetic dentistry office in 1985, Ronnie had acquired extensive experience in the fabrication of dental gold restorations. Utilizing the skills honed through his experience and continuing education courses in the dental field, Ronnie provides integral knowledge of the fabrication of gold crowns, inlays, and gold frameworks for porcelain crowns and bridges. Ronnie is an integral part of our cosmetic dentistry team, becoming one of the leading technicians in the field of laboratory procedures for implant and cosmetic dentistry.

Hygienists
Stacy Boylan -Registered Dental Hygienist
A registered dental hygienist (R.D.H.), Stacy Boylan joined the Newport Beach staff of cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen in 1990. She remains active in the dental hygiene field through her membership in the American Dental Hygiene Association, her position as a recorder for the State of California Dental Hygiene Board examinations, and her volunteer commitment to the S.O.S. (Save Our Selves) dental clinic, which provides assistance to disadvantaged adults and children.
Prior to joining Dr. Eriksmoen 's practice, Stacy received her Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from the University of Southern California (U.S.C.), where she subsequently received a faculty appointment in the dental hygiene department.
Diane Millar - Registered Dental Hygienist
Diane Millar, a registered dental hygienist (R.D.H.), joined the Newport Beach staff of cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen in 1997. A native Californian, she currently resides in Newport Coast. Diane completed her pre-dental hygiene program at U.S.C. and the dental hygiene program in the West Los Angeles College/U.C.L.A. program, graduating in 1981. She then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in health science/health care at CSULB and graduated in 1995. Diane also completed a Master's Degree in Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University in 1999. Diane has taught advanced instrumentation techniques to Graduate Periodontal Residents, and has worked on the clinic floor as a periodontal supervisor at U.S.C. In addition to teaching at the University, she has taught at the U.C.L.A. School of Dentistry as a Clinical Instructor for the W.L.A.C. dental hygiene program. Currently, she is an instructor at Cerritos College in the dental hygiene program.
Anne Overby - Registered Dental Hygienist
Another Southern California native, Anne L. Overby, R.D.H., joined the staff of cosmetic dentist John Eriksmoen in 1991. Anne attended Long Beach City College and received her certificate in dental assisting and her registered dental assistant (R.D.A.) certification in 1983. She then pursued her A.S. degree in dental hygiene, which she received from Cerritos College in 1988. Anne remains active in her profession through her appointment to administer the State of California Registered Dental Hygienists certification examination.
